* A recently made known Internet address reserved only for museums is up and running nearly a year after it was first approved. The recently made known domain, ".museum," was approved on the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) last month and unlike established domains like "com" and of the present day domains such as ".info," Internet addresses like "smithsonian.museum" are solely given to museums and other organizations and individuals in the museum field. The domain is overseen by means of MuseDoma, a nonprofit body backed at the International Council of Museums and the J Paul Getty Trust in looks Angeles.
