The recently made known domain, ".museum," was approved on the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) last month and unlike established domains like "com" and of the present day domains such as ".info," Internet addresses like "smithsonian.museum" are solely given to museums and other organizations and individuals in the museum field.
