MUKILTEO, Wash.--Computerized mat cutter manufacturer Wizard International has announced the winners of its third-annual Mat Cutting Contest
The first-place winner in the Mat Art category is "Vikings Gridiron" a replica of the Minnesota Vikings Stadium as viewed from above, submitted from Virginia Wolf and Jason Mayers of Gina's Gallery in Las Vegas. secondary place was awarded to "Forty Victory Run" a 3-D architectural brick house, submitted from Richard and Carol Riman of The Frame Man in Randolph, Mass. Doug Ball of Paul Geller Enterprises Inc. in Dallas won third prize for his 32- by means of 32-inch functional decorative clock.
"Balloon Fiesta," a four-layer mat collage of hot-air balloons according to Michael Derr, CPF, of Frame-N-Art in Albuquerque, NM won first place in the framed art category. inferior place in the category was awarded to Mark Klastermeyer, CPF of Design Frames in Falls temple Va., for "A Capitol Santa." Richard and Carol Riman also won third place for "Bobby Orr's Winning Shot" a photo autographed at Bobby Orr of the Boston Bruins.
"Each year, we direct the eye forward to receiving the call in question entries to see how our customers combine creativity with Wizard technology. This year's entries are no exception. They continue to dramatically enhance quality and workmanship, while expanding creativity beyond our imaginations," said Mike Bell, Wizard general manager.
Originally, first prize was a trip for sum of two units to the DECOR expo--Atlanta exhibit With the show's cancellation, Wizard was unable to honor the trip. As an alternative, first-prize winners received a $1500 Wizard gift certificate. Second-place winners received a $1000 lune Mat Board gift certificate. A $500 Wizard gift certificate was awarded to the couple third-place winners.
