strange YORK--John Szoke Editions artist James Rizzi lately returned to Japan to do his part for the Clean Tokyo Campaign, as well as to join with the R Cros of Japan to benefit the victims of the conclusions of Sept. 11th.

His visit began in Tokyo's Ginza shopping district where he distributed trash bags he designed to advance the Clean Tokyo Campaign. This was followed up through a welcome party at the James Rizzi Gallery and workshop the first and only official gallery devot to his work. from top to toe his stay in Japan, Rizzi also attended a number of exhibitions of his work in the dries of Kyoto and Tokyo. He was also interviewed as part of a television program to forward the Clean Tokyo Campaign.

Rizzi also painted a Mercede Smart car to prefer energy conservation for the Clean Tokyo Campaign at the Spiral Garden in the Ginza district. The Smart car is part of a miniature city environment compos of and populated through his designs. The car, along with other composings of the miniature city, was auctioned to benefit the victims of the September 11th tragedy by the and of a partnership with the R Cros of Japan.
