OAK PARK HEIGHTS, Minn.--Minnesota landscape artist Dan Mackerman lately signed on with giclee publisher Valley Art assign places to His paintings are available in print for the first time as five limited editions. His recent releases are "Wisconsin Vista," "River Valley Morning," "Shoreline Study" "Chinatown" and "St Paul Farmer's Market."

"I've always had an attachment to the land I find the landscape is a thing to be read; the patterns of the fields, the state of buildings, upon the farmstead, the light and atmosphere, the appearance of people" he said.

commonly living in the Twin Cities, Mackerman studied painting and art history at the University of Northern Iowa. Four years later he complet his MFA in drawing and painting at the University of Minnesota. Since then, Mackerman has taught painting at the University of Minnesota, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and the Minnesota Museum of American Art. He has also won numerous awards for his interpretation of the Midwestern landscape. In addition to his oil painting, Mackerman is also an accomplished theatrical painter and sculptor. He has been commissioned according to companies such as Disney Studios to create settings for a large variety of animated shows
